
“There can’t be too many designers who discover their calling by watching large French fries being carved from foam. This, though, was the moment that Lindsey Adelman decided to drop everything and turn to design. ‘I was working in the catalogue department at the Smithsonian Institution,’ recalls Adelman, ‘and I visited the exhibition, design and fabrication department where there was a woman carving French fries for a show. I asked her what she was and said, ‘I’m an industrial designer.’ from then on I knew what I wanted to do.’”
